Questions

How much data do I need for Umrah?

For a two-week Umrah, the 10 GB Umrah pack covers maps, the Nusuk app, WhatsApp and a video call home most days. If the family shares your hotspot, or for Hajj, take the 20 GB. You can add more to the same eSIM any time.

Does it work in Makkah and Madinah?

It runs on STC 5G, so it works in Makkah, Madinah and on the roads between them wherever the network has signal.

When should I install it?

At home in Pakistan, on Wi-Fi, any time up to six months before you fly. Nothing is used until the eSIM first connects in Saudi Arabia — so your days start when you land, not when you install.

Will WhatsApp calls work?

Yes — WhatsApp messages, voice and video calls work in Saudi Arabia.

Do I get a Saudi phone number?

No. It is internet only. Keep your Pakistani SIM in the phone if you want calls and SMS on your own number.

My phone is non-PTA — does that matter?

Not abroad. Any phone that supports eSIM works in Saudi Arabia, PTA-approved or not. Dial *#06#: if an EID shows, it works.

Can my family use it too?

Yes, hotspot is allowed, so you can share it. Or buy one each — every phone with eSIM needs its own.
